Healthy Life Styles

At Laxfield Pre-School we strive to promote healthy eating and an active life style. We understand that encouraging healthy lifestyles if a fundamental part of our practice, and at Laxfield Preschool we strive to introduce children to different physical activities, such as yoga, P.E lessons and accessing the outside area daily. We also explore different foods, tasting and preparing, also discussing our Oral Hygiene. Not only is our physical health recognised, but also we know how important the little minds are in our care, so we ensure we practice techniques and explore those big emotions to support children to navigate through different scenarios.

Snacks and meals:

The children are provided a morning and afternoon snack during their time within pre-school. They are given choices of fruit and a carbohydrate. At meal times we talk about the foods we eat and how they can make our bodies feel.

The children are encouraged to help prepare their own snack and wash their own crockery.


Physical activities:

Every day the children are encouraged to move their bodies whether it is accessing outdoors or participating in a structured P.E session. Physical activities are essential to support the children’s healthy growth and development.

The children often walk around the village and visit the local park.

Oral hygiene

There is now a huge emphasis on promoting the importance of good oral hygiene with children. This is something we really work hard to do at Pre-school, involving this in our everyday practice as well as providing different resources to parents & carers to support this at home.

Sun SAFETY ACCREDITATION

Laxfield Preschool emphasises the importance of sun safety, & have therefore taken part in the Sun Safety Accreditation programme.
